For a variety of reasons, sometimes people aren't able to keep their Vizslas. This may be due to a change in life circumstances, illness in the family, moving to an inhospitable environment, or any of a myriad of other reasons. These dogs come to us as rescues and then become available for re-homing. In addition, we occasionally are notified of a Vizsla in a local shelter, and we will also bring that dog into rescue.
Our rescue Vizslas are vetted, and any immediate medical issues are addressed. Their shots are brought up to date, and they are spayed or neutered if appropriate. Rescue Vizslas are available to loving homes that are prepared to adopt a dog for the rest of his life. Just like a puppy that comes from a reputable breeder, rescue dogs require the same tender-loving care. And, just like a puppy, a rescue may require a bit of basic obedience training in order to acclimate to your home. We screen adoptive families carefully to ensure that they will provide optimal care and loving homes to our beloved rescue Vizslas. VCMA is committed to following up with our rescues and assisting the adoptive families should they need us.
