Piper Barben’s Holly Golightly and Barben’s Blue Chip

If I only knew 15 years ago what I know now about Holly’s contribution to the breed and to my breeding program in particular, I would have done so much differently.  Unfortunately, only hindsight is 20/20.  As it is, Holly’s lasting memorial will be her three Dual Champions, NGDC DC Barben’s Rapacious Rascal, MH (Rascal), DC Barben’s Absolut Marini (Luke) and DC AFC Barben’s Marini with a Twist (Tzeitel).

Considering the fact that to date there are only 158 Dual Champions in the history of our breed in this country, three of them came from Holly.  Her best friend all her life was Raven, and when the time came for them to be placed in a home, it was Barbara and Bill Lammons who took them in and insured that they would not be separated and would live out their lives together. 

Out of Raven came Barben’s Blue Chip (Chipper), the pride and joy of Barbara and Bill.  Chipper unfortunately did not live a long life, but had a happy one for his short time.  It was in memory of Holly and Chipper that Barbara and Bill Lammons donated $300 to the VCMA.
